Linked to the last point, banks have existed for over 200 years - 300+ years in the case of some UK banks like Lloyds. Investing was only for the rich until 20–30–40 years ago. So again, it is more familiar
Some people wrongly think it is safer to leave your money in the bank paying 0% compared to investing money even if you are long-term and even though investing has always beaten savings long-term
