Why do you spin faster when you pull your arms in?

As there's no one putting more energy into the system rotation speed cannot remain constant, rotation speed must decrease so the total energy on the system remains equal. The opposite happens the other way around.

Hey mate here's your answer..

When we draw our arms inward , we reduce the distance between the axis of rotation , and hence reducing our moment of inertia . That's why we spin faster when we pull our arms in.
