First of all, What are arteries?
Arteries are tubes circulating blood inside our body and thus forming a part of our circulation system. These arteries carry blood from the heart to different parts of the body.
Now, if it's carrying blood from our heart, the pressure exerted on the walls of these arteries will definitely be high.
To deal with this high pressure exerted by the blood on the walls of the arteries, these have thick walls.
On the other hand, however, veins are tubes carrying deoxygenated blood from our body parts to the heart. And thus the pressure here remains low. Thus unlike arteries, veins have thin walls.
Hope it helps!
