Yes, colonization accompanied modernization. A superior country usually colonizes an inferior country for is gain. In the process the superior country usually has to bring in technology from it to the inferior country to utilise the resources of the weaker country which is usually lacking behind in technology. In this way colonization accompanies modernization. One example is the colonization of India by Britain.
