why do you think didnot the early nationalists want to re-establish the rule of the old kings of India? would it have been better than the British rule

because the british use to exploit many farmer,labourers, workers,etc. they always dominate on people therefor nationalist think if kimg will rule it will be better for all of us

Early nationalist could not understand the real motive of Britishers, they were understanding that Britishers are helping us in civilization, they were unaware about how they are exploiting the economic condition of India,also they had no unity, they influenced and attracted by western culture. They were thinking that Britisher are modernizing us, they were placated that modernization and civilization in India is only possible with help of England or Europe. that's why they did not support to reestablished old king.

we  can't tell exactly it would be better or not, but definitely they economic condition would be better, Britisher drained the Indian wealth .
