Why do you think it was so important for artists to create such realistic interpretations? How do you think the role of the artist has changed if any?

It's probably important to have realistic interpretation because then the artist's audience can actually relate to it. The role of the artist has change ( if any) may have been the fact that now not only do they speak for themselves, their art now expresses other people's feelings too that can not express on their own. At least that's what I believe.

Answer:

A realistic interpretation of art is necessary as people have always used art and the images associated with it for communicative purposes as well. Some images are used for decorative purpose and some are used for the communicative purpose.
