• Because he wanted them to kno that as a man, He was greatly tempted, but would only do the will of the Father.

• He is an example to us to do likewise, even if it means death to our bodies as it did to Jesus.

• That’s how great his love is…that He would die a tormenting death to free us from the curse of eternal torment

• I think Jesus went to pray alone because he once said “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men … but when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father who is unseen.” Therefore he wanted to act as an example to everyone.
• I think He also wanted to prove that God can not only answer prayers for those who pray in groups but also for those who pray alone.
