ANSWER::

It is known as the golden fibre. Jute grows well on well-drained fertile soils in the flood plains where soils are renewed every year. High temperature is required during the time of growth. ... Due to its high cost, it is losing market to synthetic fibres and packing materials, particularly the nylon.

Jute is called the golden fibre due to its colour and profitability.

Jute is a cash crop which is grown in abundance( high demand) and is quite profitable for the economy. It can bring in huge revenues after export.

Any two uses of jute are:

1. It is used for making bags, ropes, carpets and other items of daily utility.

2. Also used to make non woven textiles, and geo textiles.

Jute is losing market as other artificial fibres such as nylon are cheaper, cost-efficient and durable as compared to jute.

Also, it is dependent on seasonal cultivation so the supply is lesser than required.
