The robbery was conceived by Ashfaqullah Khan & Ram Prasad Bismil who had belonged to the HRA ( Hindustan Republican Association ). The conspiracy was a train robbery which happened between Kakori and Lucknow, on 9th August in the year 1925 at the time of he Indian Independence Movement against the British

Ram Prasad Bismil was of the notion that policy dacoties should be built to capture govt money. The idea was agreed and a decision was taken that a running train should be pillaged in Kakori in the Lucknow Saharanpur district.

The railway carried the government bag, and 10 HRA rebels stole it successful However the whole plot was uncovered by the British.  The British government started an intensive manhunt following the incident, detaining many rebels who were members or part of the HRA All people involved in the conspiracy were caught and punsihed accordingly. Hence, the Kakori Conspiracy failed
