An Absolute Monarchy entails all the Power being in the hands of one person. While a democracy requires the power to be with the people. So theoretically you could be an Absolute Monarch and allow a Parliament to exist in order to advise you on what they people want, this parliament could be elected, so therefore you could have an Absolute Monarchy that has slight democratic element because no matter what the Monarchy doesn't have to do anything this Parliament says and can simply stop it existing.
I believe the Saudis have a system like this where a Democratically elected Assembly advises the Absolute Monarch called the Consultative Assembly but the members are not elected but are appointed in order to serve the groups of people they represent, whether that is the Province, a Sunni religious group or a business.
So, despite my explanation, I'm going to say, no. Democracy can only work when only the people have the power to control the three branches of the Government, not the Hereditary Ruler.
