Answer:

Communication is important to express emotions among each other. There are various ways of communication. With technological advancement, we can now write our thoughts and send them to a person from anywhere we want to. Communication may not be verbal, non-verbal communication is also valid. The non-verbal platforms are as follows:-

  • Facial Expressions,
  • Eye contact or the lack of it,
  • Body language,
  • Various gestures,
  • Physical touch, etc.

For example, when we are attending a lecture, we listen to the professor, we as students are supposed to be quiet and listen to the lecture. It is not that we are not communicating, it is non-verbal communication.

Another scenario is when we recruit a candidate, we do not take the decision entirely on his CV, we also judge his body language, gestures, expression, and confidence. If the candidate expresses something but sends a contradicting message non-verbally, we rely on the non-verbal signal more. Hence, non-verbal communication is important when giving information or when listening to someone.
