• It was simple and had no restriction of caste or class
• It could be performed at home without need of holy scriptures, religious procedures and a priest
• it did not require lot's of money

ordinary people were attracted to bhakti because it was a devotion you particular deity. eg shiva,vishnu,durga etc. The people did not need to perform elaborate temple or religious ceremonies.
