If there is a spinal injury it may affect the nervous system and the information will not flow to the brain. Also the spinal cord helps the human to stand still instead of bending. Hence the doctors and parents get worried when there is a spinal injury

Because the spinal cord supports the whole body. So, if any damage is done than the child may become disable. Its the same case with a head injury. Brain cells cannot reproduce, so if there is any damage done it is permanent.
