because monkeys can be easily trained but when we see dogs and cats we can't make such entertaining programme for the viewer so street entertainers prefer monkeys.

Monkeys are considered as primitive human beings. Several theories have been given in the course of evolution which suggests that man has been evolved from monkeys. Monkeys and human beings have many structures in common. Monkeys can mimic the habits of eating, walking and dancing like that of human beings. These features are amazing as no other animal has been found to mimic gestures and habits like monkeys. Therefore, street entertainers prefer monkeys then other household pets like cats and dogs for street plays.
