Taplow as we know was a boy of Sixteen & Mr. Crocker Harris was his Teacher.
Crocker Harris was considered as a very strict teacher.He would not tell the results like other teachers and every boy in his school was afraid of him because of the image he had made among the students.
When he made some of the poorest jokes in Latin which was in a way not approachable to the students yet they have to laugh at his nonsense jokes.
Hence by his nature we can conclude that Mr. crocker Harris was a hardly human
