aunt polly cried and laughed BEFORE extracting the tooth.
since she loved tom,she was worried when he said he was going to die.and when she got to know he said he was going to 'die' because of his toe,she checked it out and knew nothing serious was there so she was very surprised and cried from relief that nothing serious had happened and laughed at of tom and hilarity of the situation.
