Why do you think that floods are more frequent in northern India then in southern India?

Floods are more common in india because1)Water bodies specially fresh water is more or is in abundant in north india ex. Ganga, yamuna etc. 2)As north india lies below or in the foothills of himalayas, this sometimes leads to melting of these mountains and glaciers.

we think this so because :
in north india their are perrenial rivers which holds water throughout the year.
rivers like damodar gandak and others coming from nepal are responsible for most of the floods in north india.
in south india their are seasonal rivers which holds water for some fixed time only
