why do you think that teachers rejected prevalent religious beliefs and practices( can you answer the question in short please)

because teacher is the one who can teaches the students and bind them and looks all of them as a one.

Many teachers rejected prevalent religious beliefs and practices because they wanted to bring equality among social castes. They advocated that everyone regardless of caste and creed has right to worship God.
