1)constitution states india as union of states though it doesn't use the word federalism it is based on same principles

2)there is three level of government in india a central government for national level

State government for state level and latest in form of panchayats and municipal corporation

3)there is clearly a three fold distribution of power stated by the construction

B)state list

C) concurrent list

4)there are some states which enjoy special power and there are some areas which are too big to be cities and too small to be a state they are called union territories

5)supreme court acts as an umpire in case of any disputes between the governments

These levels enjoy seperate jurisdiction

The basic principles of democracy cannot be changed by one level of govt

The highest court that is the supreme court along with high courts solve problems between the different levels, organs etc
