why do you think the early nationalists did not want to re-establish the rule of the old kings in india? would it not have been better than the British rule?

Early nationalists were not interested in ruling like the Indian kings....
Because the most of the king's looked after their public and were generous....
But Britishers also exploited Indian people for their own benefit and profit....
