India was the first developing nation to adopt universal adult franchise. the framers of the constitution adopted this method because India believed in democratic, secular country, where no discrimination prevails. our constitution gives the right to freedom wherein individuals have a right to choose whom to make their leader. Hence it can be said that to protect the norms and rights laid down in the constitution and to remove inequality and prove one nation, United nation theory the Universal adult franchise was adopted.
