Noble gases are placed separately in periodic table because :
1)They have completely filled outer electronic she'll configuration.
2)They are inert in nature due to above mentioned regions.
3)They all exhibit properties very different from all other elements of periodic table as they do not make compounds(there are exceptions like compounds of xenon with oxygen and fluorine).

Noble gases are elements which have stable electronic configuration and have completed octate in their shells . Eg - Neon , Helium , Argon , Radon , Xenon and Krypton . There are 6 noble gases in all.
Now , they are placed in separate group , i.e. , to the extreme right of the periodic table in group zero . Since the are most inert and unreactive elements , they have given a special place in the periodic table .
