Torrid Zone is the hottest because it is very close to the equator. At this zone, the sun is very close to the earth and it receives the maximum heat from the sun

And in case of Temperate zone which Lies between the cold zone and the subtropical zone (40° to 60°) Unlike torrid zone where sun rays fall directly on the equatorial region, in temperate region sun rays do not fall directly thus making its temperature lower in comparison of torrid zone
