Why do you think the zygote is dormant for sometime in a fertilised ovule?

Inside the fertilised ovule , the zygote remain dormant for some time. This is because the embryo develops only after the formation of endosperms . So , the zygote waits for endosperm formation which supplies food material for developing the embryo.
