Both rice and wheat are major crops in India rice is major crop in southern part of the country and wheat is a major crop in the northern part of the country hence the population is more in the northern part of the country than the southern part the country needs more wheat. Also because people are using wheat more in northern part compared to other crops and other parts of the country
