Why do you use plastic containers instead of metal containers for storage of food?

Plastic containers are non-reactive but metals react with each other food substances, hence metals are not used as storage devices for a long period. Plastic containers seem more convenient than metal containers. This is because of their lightweight, cheaper in price, good strength, and also they are easy to handle. Being lighter as compared to metals, plastics are used in cars, aircraft, and spacecraft also.
