a ball rolling on the ground slows down due to the frictional force acting on the ball between the surface of ball and ground .it tries to stop the movement.

A ball rolling on the ground slows down due to friction acting on it. If the surface on which ball is rolling it smooth, the Ball would cover more distance compared to a rough surface. The air around it would cause a resistance and also Slow it Down.
