Why does a base applied to your skin given relief from an ant bite

An antacid contain base such as milk of magnesia and also based react with the excess of acid and also neutralize their effect and provide relief on it.

If the ant bites get inject formic acid into the part of the skin and it has applied on the skin to neutralize the effect of the formic acid and support to meet better result on it.

Ant bite injects acid in it and around the bites part. This causes very irritaion.

Apllying base over these parts will actually neutralises the acid if these ants and thus give us relive.
