why does a compass needle get deflected when brought near a bar magnet?

Compass needle also behaves as a bar magnet,. When it bring near a bar magnet it expreance a force, account on this experience compass needle deflected.........

Compass needle gets deflected in presence of bar magnet because it is made like that to reflect in presence of magnetism. It gets deflected on earth towards north also because of a huge magnetism of earth. ... A compass points towards the North Pole, which is magnetic.
