Why does a compass needle show deflection when brought near a bar magnet ?

The needle of the compass acts like a magnet so when it is brought near a magnet, it's magnetic field lines interact with that of the bar magnet.Hence the compass needle gets defected

Compass needle is tiny magnet , so due to force of attraction and repulsion between two poles of magnet there is a deflection in needle of compass
