when iy reaches the top of magma it cools down and come back to core. Like the water, magma create movement of circular motion called convection current.
For eg.. it happens it hot air balloon also

Convection currents are vertical movements of fluids driven by heat. Hot fluids rise because they are less dense than cold fluids which sink.
