why does a cord of an electric heater not glow while the heating element does ?

The cord of electric heater or any other appliance has very low resistance making it easy for the current to pass.
On the other hand, the element of a heater has very high resistance, which results in the transformation of electric energy into heat energy and thus the heat makes it glow.
