Heyya!
The cooling by the desert cooler is caused by the process of evaporation. The water in the desert cooler is evaporated by which, absorption of energy from the surroundings is done, thereby cooling the surroundings. On a hot dry day, the temperature will be high with low humidity. Both these factors are responsible for increasing evaporation. Thus, water present inside the desert cooler evaporates more, thereby cooling the surroundings more. That is why a desert cooler cools better on a hot dry day.
Hope it helps!☺️
