as the swith is turned off then also the fan keeps moving for some time because any action i which force is applied it takes some time to stop it first slow down then stop

sejjal: hope this will help u plz plz plz plz mark as best
Yogesh123: just because of inertia. it wil depends on newtons 1st law of motion.
sejjal: exactly wht i want to say
sejjal: sry i cant state it clearly
fantasticojas: because when switch of fan is on it gets velocity and when switch is off the velocity of the fan is decreasing but it will move because there is kenatic energy .
fantasticojas: sorry but ans is wrong of yours
Yogesh123: ya that kinetic energy is according to newtons 1st law of motion law. (Inertia)
fantasticojas: yogesh beta inertia and kenatic energy are different from each other.I WILL GIVE EXAMPLE OF INERTIA. " WHEN YOU SIT IN THE BUS WHICH IS MOVING SUDDENLY THE DRIVER APPLY THE BRAKES, YOU WILL SLIGHTLY MOVE FORWARD .THE ENERGY WHICH MOVE YOU FORWARD IS INERTIA."

Answer:

The fan has a tendency to continue its circular motion even after it is switched off due to the inertia of motion. Thus, the fan continues to move for some time even after switching it off
