Reasons why farmer grow millets and alfalfa in his field:

The farmer prefers to grow millets in his field because the millet is a single seed which produce many of the grains so the seed is less expensive. Also it do not need any fertilizers and water to grow the millet very well.

Farmers chose alfalfa for his filed because the alfalfa is store nitrogen from the air to its root and this storage of nitrogen will be available to the other plants when the alfalfa roots are placed into the soil. It also gives fresh nitrogen to the soil for the plant use.
