AS WE KNOW THAT FORCE IS INDIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO TIME SO WHEN THE FIELDER MOVES HIS HANDS BACK TO INCREASE TIME N DECREASE THE FORCE IN ORDER TO PREVENT INJURY....

A fielder moves his hands backward on catching a fast moving cricket ball,thereby increasing the time and decreasing the rate of change of momentum. When rate of change of momentum decreases,the force exerted is also less,less impact will be produced on the fielder's hands and hence prevents injury
