A flame is the visible , gaseous part of a fire. All of us are quite familiar with how flames burn.Be it a candle flame or a bonfire , flames always burns upwards.

The reason for this is simple. When a candle is lit , its flame heats up the surrounding air. Hot air , due to its light weight , travels upward , pulling the flame up with it.That's why we always see flames burn upwards. This phenomenon also causes the flames to flicker.

Meanwhile the heavier , colder air rushes down to replace the heated air , near the burning candle . And so , the cycle continues.

Answer :

A candle flame keeps pointing up because it heats the surrounding air, creating streaming currents around itself. Warmer air is thinner and lighter than cooler air, since gas molecules spread out when they gain energy. As the heated air near a flame expands, it also rises, since it's lighter than the air around it thus it points upward.

hope the answer helps you guys and pls like it and rate to let me know how it is,

bye :)
