◆The filament of a bulb is made up of tungsten.
◆If it is broken, the bulb is said to be fused.
◆The bulb will glow because of the heat generated in the tungsten due to the flow of current in it. This is known as heating effect of electric current.
◆If it is broken current will not flow .
◆ so heat will not be generated.
◆hence the bulb will not glow.

hope this helps you.
