Galvanometer measure electric current and resistance work as hurdle in the path of current means resistance appose current.hence galvanimeter should have low resistance to measure accurate current

BECAUSE IT SHOULD MEASURE EVEN A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF CURRENT PASSING THROUGH IT
