why does a gas exert pressure


Wolverine28101995: The molecules are continually colliding wid each other and with the walls of the container wen a molecule collides with the wall they exert the pressure exerted by the gas is due to the sum of all these collision forces

because they want to stay free and do not want to be in a bound so they exert pressure and even due to the collision

Hey...

The particles of gas move in all possible direction. During their motion, they collide with each other and against the walls of the container. Due to these collisions the gas molecules exert pressure.
