Yes, it is observed that the glass vessel breaks when it falls on the hard floor, but it does not breaks when it falls on the carpet.
This happens so because the carpet is known to be less dense as compared to that of the floor.
Being the floor denser it causes the glass vessel to break.

the molecules of glass are very weak that they break when applied pressure
So, it breaks
