Why does a magnet compass needle get deflect in brought near bar magnet?

A compass needle is a small bar magnet. When it is brought near a bar magnet, its magnetic field lines interact with that of the bar magnet. Hence, a compass needle shows a deflection when brought near the bar magnet.

Magnetic needle is made up of magnet.hence it has North and South pole.Magnetic needle always settels pointing North and South poles......
but when bar magnet is brought near it,the S pole of bar magnet attracts N pole of magnetic needle; and N pole of bar magnet attracts S pole of needle .And therefore magnetic needle get deflects
