because the number is measured in the unit so units are ver4th important to be written

without an unit just the number will make no sense ..
eg ) 247 .. it gives us no information if it's joules or calories or ampere etc
number is also required as without a quantity we cannot understand the amount of the thing
eg) joules .. it does not specify how many joules
