Okay, so

During strenuous exercise, body needs additional energy for obvious reasons. This demands a greater amount of oxygen which is used up in the respiration process. Hence to gain more oxygen we breathe at a higher rate.

Answer:

During excess workout, the oxygen that is intaken is not sufficient to perform aerobic respiration.

But as vigorous energy is required the body prefers quicker rather than quantitative energy formation.

In atp formation, the anaerobic respiration produces 2 atp which is not enough energy as a result more oxygen is demanded and excessive breathing and fast working of heart for oxydizing blood.

As a result lack of oxygen still remains causing lactic acid even..

Hope u got it...
