Initially, both the person & the moving bus/train in a state of motion.
When the passenger jumps out of a moving bus/train, the lower part of the person's body comes to rest on touching the ground.
The upper part of his body tends to remain in a state of motion due to its inertia of motion.
As a result, the person jumping out of the moving bus/train may fall forward.
