Explanation:it is because when we stand on pile of gravel then the large pieces of gravel have less area in contact with our feet due to which they put more pressure on our leg muscle due to which we feel pain while on standing on heap of sand more area in contact thus less pressure and thus no pain

if area is more , then pressure is less and if area is less then pressure is more. so when we stand on gravel, we have lesser are under our foot which causes more pressure and hence pain. vice-versa when we stand on sand.
