why does a person lean forward while climbing staircase?
Answers
Explanation:
When a person climb a staircase or a hill, his body mass is shifted backwards because now he is not straight rather tilted and the center of gravity is shifted to the back of foot.
So, in order to maintain the balance of the body and avoid falling back. The body naturally leans forward.
But it is not considered good for body posture. To maintain a good posture a person should stay straight while climbing a staircase.

Here's your answer...
If you’re standing upright on a flat surface you cannot move forward unless you move your center of gravity forward first, and you do that by first leaning forward. You are unaware of this because it is a learned behaviour. The steeper the slope, the faster you want to go, (or the bigger the pace you’re taking) the more you have to lean forward. Lean too much and you might fall forward.
For the same reasons of physics and learned behaviour, you have to lean backwards when going down a slope to prevent yourself going too fast. Lean too much and you’ll fall backward.
