why does a person lean forward while climbing staircase

Explanation:

It is natural to lean forward while climbing the stairs because, when we climb the stair or a hill, our base angle is disturbed. Since, now we are not straight rather tilted. Our body mass actually moves backward due to which our center of gravity is shifted backward too.

Therefore, our body maintains its balance by leaning in the forward direction.

However, in order to correct the posture, it is advised to stay straight while climbing or to keep your hip, chest and head in straight line.
