More than 60% of the blood is normally found in the veins. In a person standing skill (with out movement) , the leg muscles do not contract to compress the veins for upward movement of blood. This leads to pooling of blood in the leg veins as the blood fails to ascend against gravity. The heart does not receive enogh blood to maintain the required supply of blood to the brain. The Brain, therefore, receive less amount of oxygen and nutrients and the persons may, therefore, faint and fall.
