This causes excess water in the stomach which makes the person vomit. Therefore the phenomenon behind it is exo osmosis. ... Hypertonic solution (water concentration lower as compared to the cell) therefore causes exosmosis. The outward movement of water from the cell results in irritation and excessive dehydration.
